Podcasts better than lecture notes
In research that will be of interest to everyone who needs to communicate a detailed message, it seems listening to a podcast is better for students than simply taking notes. Research carried out by State University of New York looked at how well students soaked up information. The group were given a lecture and asked to take notes. Half the group received printed slides of the lecture, the other were instructed to download a podcast of the lecture synchronized with a video of the slides. The podcast group outperformed the other group with an average score of 71% against 62%.
